Grain Inspectors with the United States Department of Agriculture and the Washington State Department of Agriculture ensure grain that is exported meets our customers needs for quality and consistency.
Washington wheat and barley are utilized domestically and internationally with approximately 85% of the wheat being exported.
Customers purchasing wheat and barley from Washington and the Pacific Northwest can specify grain qualities that meet the needs of mills and end-use products.
All grain exported from Washington is independently inspected by state and federal inspectors to ensure the customers’ specifications are met.
Wheat is loaded onto ships that hold up to 60,000 metric tons of grain.
Once certified by inspectors and loaded, ships deliver quality Washington grain to over 25 countries around the world.
