The WGC budget of $7.29 million was approved at its June 2024 meeting
The budget is down nearly 16% from $8.6 million in 2023, a consequence of lower production, lower prices, and more farmers deciding to store wheat all contributing to lower revenue. However, WGC has healthy reserve funds specifically to help cover lower revenue years and will continue to fund all its normal activities supporting market development, research, and education. Research comprises 26% of the budget, market development accounts for 19%, grower services is 22%, and education comprises 10%.
