The WGC budget of $7.8 million was approved at its May 2022 meeting
The budget is up from $7.3 million last year, which includes about $1 million that was rolled forward due to continued COVID-19 restrictions on travel and activities. Research comprises 25 percent of the budget with marketing coming in at just under 20 percent. The board also increased funding toward education and grower services. The WGC will invest $1,951,105, in research, just edging up from $1,947,909 last year, with an emphasis on ensuring farmers’ core interests at the previous year’s allocations.
