The WGC budget of $7.31 million was approved at its May 2021 meeting
The budget is up from $6.28 million last year, coming off a record year for yield in 2020. Research is taking nearly 27 percent of the budget with marketing coming in at just over 20 percent. The board also increased funding toward education and grower services. The WGC will invest $1,947,909, in research, down from $2,171,284 last year, but with an emphasis on ensuring farmers’ core interests remained at the previous year’s allocations.
