9.10.19 The Nisshin Crop Quality Team which surveys Eastern Washington’s wheat fields every August during harvest season is not an obligation to Scott Yates, director of communications and producer relations for the Washington Grain Commission. Instead, Yates, who leads the team, views the Nisshin visits as an opportunity to get the straight scoop from six elevator operations within various microclimates about the crop’s performance. This year, every location rated the crop as above average, but one gave it a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. Listen to episode 142 entitled: It’s Always a Delight Leading the Nisshin Crop Quality Team! First Day, to find out where the perfect crop was located.
